docker.io software package provides Linux container runtime, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install docker.io
docker.io is installed in your system.
Make ensure the docker.io package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep docker.io *
You will get with docker.io package name, version, architecture and description in a table
